Formed in Colchester in 1991, THE SCOOBS describe their music as “world groove fusion”. That might sound like a broad description, but expect hints of funk, calypso, reggae, high life, merengue, afro-beat, ska and plenty more besides.
The band’s maturity is at the heart of their sound. As they put it, there are no frills, no gimmicks and no musical gymnastics – just deep, earthy grooves, catchy melodies and an obvious enjoyment of playing together.
The wonderful SALLY THEOBALD opens the afternoon with a few of her own songs, so make sure you get here early.
